To unify and strengthen the Los Altos-Mountain View Council Units through counseling and encouragement, providing opportunities for leadership training and facilitating the exchange of ideas and experiences for the enhancement of all member school communities.
Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: email communications on issues, best practice sharing with presidents, mentoring and informational forums, Annual Luncheon and Honorary Service Awards.
To develop and coordinate unit and council projects and activities in the interest of children and youth.
Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: Toy and Food Drive, Egan Scholarships, parent education events, membership, and initiatives to promote literacy and healthy lifestyles.
To build and maintain awareness of community resources available to benefit all youth.
Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: hosting guest speakers from community organizations, and developing associations with child advocacy agencies.
To facilitate communication among all PTA entities and ensure all units remain in good standing with the State and National PTA.
Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: passing on National, State, District and Council information in a useable format, collecting all financial obligations and forwarding them to the appropriate level, maintaining a Council website, soliciting support and information for units, hosting monthly PTA President meetings, and participating with units to ensure their success.
To influence public opinion and advocate for the benefit of children, youth and families.
Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: providing legislation education and opportunities for advocacy, and fostering positive public relations.
